Wow! I just picked up a beautiful slide from Rocky Butte Guitar Slides, and I had to share. For all you slide fans out there, I would seriously consider checking out their website. They have slides in a variety of beautiful colors and all of them are handmade and really well done. They also make "shorties" for those who only want a slide on a couple strings at once, really clever idea! I got mine from Trade Up Music in Portland, OR but you can order online, too. I think the gallery really speaks for itself. Anyway, you can check it out, here: www.rockybutteslides.com/Rock on!

Thanks Ronnie, your comments here are a big hit for us! As you said, we are the new kids on the block and feedback really means the world to us. FYI, I made my first Pyrex slide in 1969 after working as assistant to the laboratory glass-blower at OHSU in Portland. They were a hit then too, and my partner and I sold them up and down the I-5 until about mid-'73 when we began selling thru distributors. Eventually we were shipping them all over the world, but the business became very different from the little company we started. I felt we had lost touch with the stores and musicians who built our business. The middle-man was the winner. I closed the doors to it in 1975 when Gibson and others found alternative sources for cheaper slides. I had sold over 70,000 slides! Then I had a regular career and retired in 2012 as a professional project manager. In 2013, looking for something to do with myself, I found sources for boro (the glass of the original Pyrex brand) in wonderful colors! I put the pieces together and made some sample slides. Again a hit, it's grown from building a handful of slides to now, a website with a decent selection of colors and sizes. We sell them in various colors/lengths/ringsizes through stores like Alberta St. TradeUp, and in specific length/ringsizes/colors via the website. The idea of offering a custom slide to everybody is new, and skirts around having to 'try on' every slide in a store to get one that fits. And store collections provide a good cross section of popular sizes/lengths/colors at a good price, so everybody wins. If a player can't find a good fit in a store, they can get one made online, custom. We call it 'the new standard'. Interested stores/resellers should get in touch; our door is wide open. And thanks again Ronnie, I'm really glad you like the new slides! Drop us a comment on the site if you have any vids with your new slide! We'd love to see it and you in action! -All the best, Rocky

Great quality and great service! So nice to be able to get slides like these, fit to your size. The glass does make a difference. I used to order from a Co. in the U.K., and they were good, but became harder and harder to get. These are awesome slides, the price is better and Bill takes care of you fast. I wasn't quite sure what size I wanted, so Bill called me and suggested sizing each end a hair different- great idea, especially when your fingers swell a bit. I'm gonna keep these guys busy.
