I have heard great things about this guitar. The Coodercaster, Ry Cooders hot-rod hybrid made from bits and pieces of other guitars, it is the slide equivalent of Clapton's 'Blackie', built from the best bits of several old Strats. Ry says they "just got lucky" when they built the 'Coodercaster' didn't know it would turn out so good, says he has played copies of it but they never come close to the original. www.slideguitarist.com/artists/ry_cooder.html#anchor_coodercasterRy used a cheap early 60's Teisco Gold Foil pick-up in the neck position and a Valco pickup from a Hawaiian Guitar in the bridge position. I believe there were copies made, anyone got one, anyone tried to build one, anyone played one ? Teisco Gold Foil pickups are now changing hands for crazy money, are they worth it ?
